The Open Dharma Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing scholarships for meditation retreats to those in financial need, is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Development Director.
Job Overview:
As the Development Director, your primary responsibility will be to generate a stable and growing stream of donations by identifying, cultivating, and fostering relationships with donors. Your strategic fundraising efforts will directly support the expansion of our scholarship program, enabling more individuals to embark on life-changing meditation journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy focused on acquiring donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential donors, understanding their interests and aligning them with the Foundation’s vision and
programs. Research and identify new donor prospects to expand our donor base and increase
funding opportunities. Plan and coordinate donor engagement events and activities to deepen donor
commitment. Track and analyze fundraising data to report on progress and adjust strategies as
needed. Represent Open Dharma Foundation in a professional and ethical manner, acting as a
key ambassador for our cause.
Qualifications:
Experience in fundraising and donor relations, particularly within non-profit organizations. Strong networking skills with the ability to engage and persuade high-level donors. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency in articulating a clear and compelling case for support. Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility and adaptability to grow with the role and adjust to changing fundraising landscapes.
Part-time Position Details:
The Development Director role begins as a part-time position, requiring 4 hours of work per week. Compensation is $40 per hour.
This contractor position is fully remote, offering flexible hours to fit your schedule.
If fundraising efforts are sufficiently successful, there will be an opportunity to discuss an increase in both pay and hours.
